*حول التصميم:

كان الإلهام وراء تصميم هذا المحول هو رسم نموذج مركزية الكون حسب ما وصفه الفلكي نيكولاوس كوبرنيكوس في القرن السادس عشر حينما لاحظ أنّ الأرض تدور حول الشمس وليس العكس. قدم هذا النموذج الذي غير وجه العلم حينها، لأول مرة، شمسًا ثابتة في مركز النظام الشمسي، والكواكب بما في ذلك الأرض تدور حولها في مدارات متحدة المركز.

 ترمز النقاط المنقوشة على المحول إلى الكواكب الأرضية، وهي عطارد والزهرة والأرض والمريخ. وعندما يتم استخدام المحول، يعطي دورانه مع الأسطوانة الانطباع بأن الكواكب فقط تدور بينما يبقى محور الأسطوانة نفسه ثابتاً لا يتحرك.

On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres

The inspiration for creating the design of this adapter was the drawing of the heliocentric vision of the universe contained in Nicolaus Copernicus’s work On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres (De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium). This vision, which changed the face of science, presented, for the first time, a motionless sun at the center of the solar system with the planets, the Earth included, revolving around it in concentric orbits.

The openings which can be seen symbolize the terrestrial planets, namely Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. The record placed on a revolving turntable creates the impression that only the planets are revolving while the record itself remains motionless.

The adapters are made from stainless steel and precision machined using CNC technology. In order to achieve a balance between shiny and matte surfaces which is pleasing to the eye, each adapter is polished by hand.
